  • Admission will be strictly restricted to the number of seats allocated by the university, In each faculty. Under no circumstances, the number of admission will exceed the quota allocated by the university and after expiry of the due date.

  • Admission will be done on the basis of merit / and the result of an entrance test to be conducted in each faculty.

  • The candidate will have to ensure beyond any doubt that he / she does not have any previous criminal record and has not been tried or convicted of any criminal offence or misconduct and that to disciplinary action has been taken against him / her by the college / university authorities.

  • Admission to II year and III year classes shall be finalized within specified period as per the directions of the university.

  • All admission shall be subject to the approval of the admission committee which will be constituted on the recommendation of the finally approved by the managing committee.
    A crossed bank draft from any nationalized bank payable at Lucknow of amount as mentioned against admission fee in favour of “Principal, Shia P.G. College, Lucknow” must be submitted at the time of admission.

  • Write your name, father’s name, mother’s name, address, class and entrance test roll no. On the bank draft.

  • No admission fee in cash will be accepted in any case at the college counter. If any increase in the fees is made by university/govt./competent authorities In future, the students shall have to deposit the inhanced fees.

  • Severe action will be taken against the student found involved in RAGGING as per directions issued by the honorable supreme court of India.

Students seeking admission to any class of the college are advised that they should not take the help of any agency or person who promises to help them in getting admitted to the college. In many cases in the past, new students have been lured and became victims of fraud.

  • The Brochure and the Application form for admission to B.Sc.-I/B.A.-I/B.Com-I for BOYS can be obtained from the Principal’s Office (Sitapur Road Campus) and for GIRLS from Principal’s Office (Victoria Street Campus) on payment of Rs. 250/- (Rs. Two hundred fifty) in cash which includes the Processing Fee and the Entrance Test Fee. This amount is Non-refundable and Non-transferable.

  • The Brochure and the Application form for admission to M.Sc.-I Sem. (Zoology), M.Com. I Sem. (Applied Economics), M.Com.-I Sem. (Pure Commerce) and M.Sc.-I / M.A. I Sem. (Statistics) can be obtained from the Principal’s Office (Sitapur Road Campus) & for M.A.-I Sem.(Urdu), M.A.-I Sem.(Sociology), M.Com. I Sem. (Applied Economics) can be obtained from the Principal’s Office (Victoria Street Campus) on payment of Rs. 350/- (Rs. Three hundred fifty) which includes the Processing Fee and the Entrance Test Fee.   • The Application form duly filled in should be submitted to the Principal’s Office within the prescribed time alongwith the Photocopies Attested by the candidate him / her self, of the following documents :-

    (iii) Graduation Marksheet of (a) First Year (b) Second Year (c) Third Year (For the students seeking admission to P.G. Note : (a) Incomplete Application forms are liable to be rejected after scrutiny. (b) Original Transfer Certificate or Migration Certificate must be submitted with the Lucknow University Examination form.

  • Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc.-I / B.A.-I / B.Com.-I / P.G. classes will be required to appear at the Admission Test
    (Written Entrance Test) to be held on the date and time to be notified on the College Notice Board.
    (a) The written Entrance Test for admission to B.Sc.-I / B.A.-I / B.Com.-I Classes shall consist of multiple choice objective questions on the subjects of Study, General Awareness, Hindi, English, Logic and questions to test the General Intelligence of the candidates.
    (b) The written Entrance Test for admission to Post-Graduate classes shall consist of multiple choice objective questions and a few short questions on the subjects of Study, General Awareness and questions to test the General Intelligence of the candidates.

  • Merit of a candidate seeking admission to B.Sc.-I/ B.A.-I/B.Com.-I / P.G. classes will be determined on the basis of a Merit- Index which will be generated by the addition of normalized percentage of marks obtained in XII / Qualifying Examination and the percentage of marks obtained in the Entrance-Test.
    Merit-Index= Normalized percentage of marks obtained in XII or qualifying Examination +percentage of marks obtained in the Entrance-Test.

  • The Process of Normalization of percentage of marks for the undergraduate admission is mentioned below :-
    “In order to remove disparity that exists between the marks awarded to the candidates by different examining authorities
    / boards in the country, a system of “Normalization” will be adopted. Under the normalization procedure the first rank student of one board will be equal to that of the first rank of the other boards. As such the first rank student of each board will be considered to have obtained 100% marks and the aggregate marks of all other students from that board will be normalized with reference to the aggregate marks obtained by the first rank student of the board. For example, if the aggregate marks of the first rank student of a board is 94% his/her normalized aggregate is 100% and if a student from the same board has obtained 88% marks, then his normalized percentage will be (88x100)/94=93.61. The Institution shall procure on its own the percentage of marks obtained by first rank student of Central Board of Secondary Educaton, Council of Indian School Certificate and U.P.Board. All other Boards will be treated at par with I.S.C. for the purpose of normalization of marks.”

  • As Shia college is a Muslim Minority Institution, there will be no reservation for SC., ST,. OBC. in accordance with the provisions of Sec.28(5) of U.P. Universities Act,1973 which clearly provides that there shall be no such reservation in Minority Institutions.

  • The Merit-Index of the candidates will be displayed on the College Notice Board in the form of Merit List. Those candidates whose Merit-Index will be up to the cut off point in the merit-list will be required to appear before Admission Committee alongwith original certificates on the date and time notified on the College Notice Board. The Committee will finalise the Admission Process after scrutiny of the application forms, original certificates and mark sheets.

  • Selected candidates will have to deposit the prescribed fee through a Cross Bank Draft of any Nationalised Bank payable at Lucknow in favour of Principal, Shia P.G. College, Lucknow, with their Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Address, Entrance Test Roll No. and class written on the back of it at the fee counter within the specified period failing which his/her
    admission will automatically stand cancelled. No Admission is complete till the fee is deposited.

  • Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc.-I / B.A.-I / B.Com.-I must have obtained atleast 40% marks in the Intermediate or equivalent examination recognised by Lucknow University. They must have passed Intermediate Examination not earlier than 2007. Five marks will be deducted for each gap year.

  • Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc.-I (Maths Group) shall not be allowed for change of combination of Subjects under any circumstances.

  • A candidate who has already completed graduation shall not be further allowed to take admission to any other undergraduate class.

  • No transfer of candidates admitted to any class will be allowed under any circumstances to any other course. Candidate who wish to be considered for admission to more than one course must apply separately and appear in the Entrance-Test held separately for these courses.

  • Candidates seeking admission to B.Com.-I must have passed Intermediate in Commerce or in Arts with Economics or Science with Mathematics. Those who have passed Intermediate with Biology/Agriculture are not eligible for admission to B.Com.-I.

  • Candidates who have passed Intermediate examination with Agriculture are not eligible for admission to B.Sc. & B.Com classes.

  • Candidates seeking admission to B.A.-I with Mathematics/ Statistics must have passed Intermediate wtih Mathematics.

  • Those Candidates who have passed Intermediate from Shia Inter College and have applied for admission to B.A., B.Sc. & B.Com. classes, will be given a weightage of 5 marks in their Merit-Index.

  • Candidates seeking admission to M.A.-I Sem. (Urdu) must have passed B.A. in atleast second division with Urdu as one of the subjects in B.A. - III year.

  • Candidates seeking admission to M.A.-I Sem. (Sociology) must have passed B.A. in at least second division with Sociology as one of the subjects in B.A. - III year.

  • Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc.-I Sem. (Zoology) must have passed B.Sc.with 55% marks . The candidates should have Zoology as a subject in B.Sc.- III year. They must have passed B.Sc. Examination not earlier than 2007.

  • Candidates seeking admission to M.Com.-I Sem. (Applied Economics) must have passed B.Com. or Graduataion Examination with Statistics or Mathematics or Economics as one of the subjects in III year with second division . They must have passed Graduataion Examination not earlier than 2007.

  • Candidates seeking admission to M.Com.-I Sem. (Pure Commerce) must have passed B.Com. with second division. They must have passed B.Com. Examination not earlier than 2007.

  • Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc.-I / M.A. - I Sem. (Statistics) must have passed B.Sc./B.A. with 55% marks. The candidates should have Statistics as a subject in B.Sc.- III year.

  • Students offering Computer Science in B.Sc.-I, II & III will be charged an additional fee of Rs. 3500.00 per annum.

  • Students offering Computer Applications in B.A.-I, II & III will be charged an additional fee of Rs. 3250.00 per annum.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR LL.B. I SEMESTER

  • The Information Brochure and the Application form for admission to LL.B.-I Semester (Boys) can be obtained from the Principal’s Office (Sitapur Road Campus) & for Girls from Principal’s Office (Victoria Street Campus) by paying the prescribed fee in cash (as displayed on the College notice board) which includes the Processing Fee and the Entrance Test Fee. This amount is Non-refundable and Non-transferable.
  • The Application form duly filled in should be submitted to the Principal’s office within the prescribed time alongwith the attested photocopies of the following documents:
    (i) High School marksheet and High School Certificate.
    (ii) Intermediate marksheet and Intermediate Certificate.
    (iii) Graduation marksheet of (a) First Year (b) Second Year (c) Third Year.
    (iv) Marksheets of Post-Graduation (I and II Year)
    (v) Certificate relating to any other qualification.
    (vi) No Objection Certificate from the employer showing that the office hours of the candidate do not clash with the teaching hours of the college (1:30 P.M. to 6 :00 P.M. for Boys and 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 A.M. for Girls)
    (vii) Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
    (viii) Domicile Certificate, issued by the District Magistrate to be submitted by the candidates residing in States other than Uttar Pradesh.
    (ix) Proof of Local Address and Permanent Address.
    (x) Migration Certificate to be submitted by the candidates who have completed Graduationfrom the University other than Lucknow University. In case of non-availability of the Migration Certificate the candidate shall have to present the same within two weeks from the date of admission failing which the admission will automatically stand cancelled.
    (xi) Caste Certificate in case S.C. / S.T. / O.B.C. candidates for the purpose of granting scholarship, etc.
    (xii) Photocopy of the receipt of the purchase of Admission Application Form.

The committee will finalise the Admission Process after scrutiny of the application forms, original certificates and marksheets.
  • As Shia College is a Muslim Minority Institution, there will be no reseration for S.C./S.T./O.B.C. candidates in accordance with the provisions of Sec.28 (5) of the U.P. Universities Act, 1973 which clearly provides that there shall be no such reservation in Minority Institutions.
  • A candidate will be eligible for admission to LL.B. class, if he/she has completed graduation by obtaining bachelor’s degree recognised by Lucknow University with 10+2+3 system and has secured not less than 40% marks at Graduation level.
  • For admission to LL.B-I Semester, 80% of the sanctioned seats shall be filled up from the candidate passing graduationexamination from Lucknow University. For the remaining 20% seats available for admission. Graduates from the universities other than Lucknow University shall be considered for admission provided that the merit of the candidate from other Universities is not below the merit of the last candidate admitted from amongst Lucknow University graduates. Any seat remaining vacant shall be filled in from the graduates of Lucknow University in order of merit.
  • To determine the merit for admission of such candidates who have secured equal marks in the Entrance Test, the ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR LL.B.-I SEMESTER (21) percentage of marks secured by the candidates at the Graduation examination will be determining factor of merit for admission. If the marks obtained at the Graduation examination by two or more candidates are the same, in that case the percentage of marks secured by the candidate at the Intermediate examination will be determining factor for admission and if the percentage at the Intermediate level is also the same, percentage of marks obtained in High School Examination will be the determining factor for admission.
  • Period in between the year of passing qualifying examination and the year of applying for admission to LL.B. Class shall be treated as gap and 5 marks, obtained in the Entrance-Test shall be deducted for each gap year subject to a maximum gap of three years.
  • Those having a gap of more than three years shall not be eligible for admission.
  • Provided that in case the candidates passing Post-Graduate Examination in continuation of the qualifying examination, the time of Post-Graduate Examination of two years without any break, will not be treated as gap and in this case gap period will be reckoned from Post-Graduate Examination.
  • Wards (Son/ Daughter/Spouse) of the employees of the Shia College will have to produce a certificate from the Principal for claiming the reservation.
  • All disputes regarding interpretation of provisions regarding admission shall be referred to the Admission Committee and its decision shall be final.
  • Selected candidates will have to deposit the prescribed fee through a crossed Bank Draft of any Nationalised Bank only payable at Lucknow in favour of Principal, Shia P.G. College, Lucknow with their Names, Father’s Name, Address, Entrance Test Roll No., and class, written on the back of it, at the fee counter within the specified period failing which his/her admission will automatically stand cancelled. No admission is complete till the fee is deposited.
  • Attendance : No student of LL.B. programme shall be allowed to take the end semester examination if the students concerned has not attended minimum of 70% of the classes held as also the moot court room exercise, tutorials and practicals conducted in the subject taken together. Provided that if a student of any exceptional reasons failed to attend 70% of the classes held in any subject, the Dean of University or the Principal of the Centre of Legal Education, as the case may be, may allow the student to take the test if the student concerned attended at least 65% of the classes held.
  • The names of newly admitted students of all the classes who fail to attend classes within 10 days either from the beginning of the session or from the date of their admission whichever is later shall be removed from the roll unless leave has been granted before hand.
  • Applicants holding degrees, certificates like Prathma, Madhyama, Visharad, Dabir-e-Kamil, Dabir-e-Mahir etc.are not eligible for admission to the professional course ie. LL.B. as per the decision of the Management.
  • Prohibition to register for two regular course of study : No students shall be allowed to simultaneously register for a law degree programme with any other graduate of post graduate degree/diploma or even a certificate course run by Lucknow University or any other University or an Institute for academic or professional learning.
  • Overriding Effect : The relevant UGC/BCI Rules (as amended from time to time) shall be binding on the University.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
  • All information relating to admission entrance tests to be held on different dates in the month of june/July, 2010 shall be put up on the college notice boards.
  • Candidates should regularly see the college notice board for all matters regarding the declaration of Result of the admission entrance tests, the merit-list/merit-index, the procedure and dates for Reporting and completing the admission process and other formalities in the month of June / July, 2010.
  • The College and its authorities do not take any responsibility of notifying any candidate individually or by post or by any other mode.
  • Failure to complete admission process and its formalities by the prescribed date and time will Automatically disqualify the eligibility for admission.

 

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL THE STUDENTS OF THE COLLEGE

  • Any of the rules may be dropped or modified as and when necessary.

  • If an Ex- student does not apply for the refund of Caution Money within 60 days after declaration of the result, the same will be forfeited

  • Students are advised to note that a minimum of 75% attendance in theory and practicals (where held) is statutory binding for Arts / Science / Commerce stream for allowing them to appear at the examination. Those who fail to put in 75% attendance may not be allowed to appear at the examination.

  • Students who fail in any examination can appear at the next examination as Exempted Candidate without attending theory and practical classes according to the rules of the University of Lucknow. This facility is available only once.

  • All the students will be issued Identity Cards which they must always keep on their person and produce on demand. It is an important document which must not be lost. Duplicate Identity Cards are issued on payment of Rs. 50/- and on applying for the same along with copy of F.I.R. and an affidavit to this effect.

  • Students who wish to avail the facility of Railway Concession must fill up the prescribed form available with the clerk concerned by paying Rs.5/- and submit the duly-filled in form in the Principal's office.

  • Books with a total cost not exceeding Rs.100/-will be issued from the Library to a student at a time. Costlier books may be issued to a student if he / she deposits the balance of the price of books as Security-Money at the respective cashier counter and obtain the receipt for the same. The amount deposited will be refundable when the student returns the book. Library books will be issued for 14-days only. Thereafter, a fine of Rs.1/-day will be charged for each book for the next seven days, if the book is not returned during this period, a fine of Rs.5/-per day per book will be charged till it is returned.

  • Students are advised to note down the detailed Time-Table from their respective Faculty Offices.

  • Holiday notices will be put up on the College Notice-Boards as and when required.

  • The amount of fee payable shall be displayed on the College Notice-Boards. Fee once deposited will not be refunded in any case.

  • Students must preserve their Original Fee-Receipts, Admit Cards; Identity Cards etc. because these documents are always required for getting admission to the next higher class and also for availing any other facility during their three years' study in the college and for use in future.
